Race Timer: Record Laps and Finish Times

Race Timer game cover illustration

Start the clock, mark laps, and record each racer at the finish line.

A stopwatch for more than one racer

Set up two to six racers, then start one shared stopwatch. Tap Lap for any racer during the race and Finish when they cross the line. The timer records each finish time and sorts the results. You control every lap and finish; it does not detect runners or connect to timing hardware.

What the race record shows

  • Read elapsed time to hundredths of a second.
  • Compare lap splits and finish order.
  • Pause and resume the shared clock without losing recorded laps.

Time a race

  1. Name two to six racers, then press Start.
  2. Mark each lap and each finish as it happens.
  3. Read the ordered finish times, or reset for another race.

For classroom races

Use this manual race timer for a short math relay or other class activity. One person should operate the clock and record finishes. For an animated countdown with a random winner, use Classroom Race Timer instead.
